Chiang Mai and capital of its namesake province is about
310 meters above sea level. The city is located in a valley on
the banks of the river Ping,covering some 20,000 square
kilometers.
Protected by the moats, the old city is filled with
monuments that mark the course of the change in the city's 700
years history. Generations have trod the narrow lanes that
link the neighborhoods to the temples and the markets. |
