Special Experience, Alms Giving at Marble Temple

Early morning trip to see the alms giving at the Marble Temple. The ritual is slightly altered at the Marble Temple. Here, the faithful take the food to the monks who wait in the tree-shaded street in front of the temple. It is a moving sight and offers a chance for some superb photos.

Take a walk through Chinatown and visit to a Chinese Buddhist temple and a market straight out of ancient China. This journey is as much for atmosphere as for historical interest. If you have the energy, Chinatown can be fun to visit, with its beautiful traditional Chinese temples, multitudes of shops and constant activity. This is the busiest part of Bangkok: Many of the roads narrow to one lane and crisscross the canals, and there aren't many traffic lights, so be careful when crossing the street. Chances are you will run out of steam before Chinatown runs out of streets.

Visit the private house and stroll through the art collector's private museum. An art collector's dream to house his pieces in a classical setting has resulted in a small complex of superb buildings in a countryside garden. The collection runs from pre-historic pieces to those of the present dynasty with special emphasis on Bencharong (five colors) pottery.
